Anyone needing to better understand the legal responsibilities of directors of a company limited by guarantee (CLG) and other aspects of the Companies Act 2014.

Outline

This 1 hour seminar will give an overview of the role of company members, legal duties of directors and company secretaries, and other obligations under the Companies Act 2014.

Instructor

Dr Thomas B Courtney

Dr Thomas B Courtney is a partner at Arthur Cox where he heads the Company Compliance and Governance Practice and is a Partner in the Corporate Group where his focus is corporate governance, company law and financial regulation. Since joining Arthur Cox Tom has built a strong corporate governance practice to leading national and international clients. In May 2014, Tom was elected a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators and in 2018 was appointed Adjunct Professor of Law (NUI Galway).

Specialties: Company law, directors' duties, corporate governance, corporate constitutions; and financial regulation, legislation, and interpretation of the Companies Act.
