Target Audience
For small and medium sized non-profit organisations, community, voluntary, charitable & social enterprise registered in the Republic of Ireland. Board members and managers: people with responsibility for human resources.
Aim
To assist participants in being able to deal with situations that may cause anxiety, discomfort or stress.
Outline
Difficult situations are inevitable, and can occur without warning, or, in some organisations, regularly. Having a strategy prepared which helps us to respond rather than react will help both parties achieve a satisfactory (win-win) outcome. The session will be highly interactive, with group work and pairs exercises designed to enable participants maximise their learning.

Dave Conway
Dave Conway has over 30 years’ experience as a trainer and manager in the education, semi-conductor and financial services sectors. He is a personal and business coach, as well as a consultant providing a range of training and facilitation services across the business spectrum.
Dave’s delivery style is highly interactive and his experience in facilitating adult learning over many years has proven itself time and time again. From team building through to people management, each course is filled with fun and challenging learning, and elicits the unique experience of the participants.
Outcomes
On completion of the course, participants will:
- Be able to identify what made a situation difficult
- Know their assertiveness style
- Have identified trigger words, body language & tone
- Have practiced at least one technique with another course participant
- Be able to devise a personal strategy that accommodates their assertiveness style.
